Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North is set to make a huge impact in the Comox Valley. The non-profit, whose mandate is to use homeownership as a means to break the cycle of poverty, recently finalised the purchase of a parcel of land in Courtenay that will house 10 families when building is completed.

Habitat VIN was recently presented with two awards at Habitat Canada AGM. Its community fundraising efforts won an award for Epic Engagement and its ever-popular ReStore won for Social Enterprise. It also won two awards at the 2016 Campbell River Chamber Business Awards of Distinction for Not For Profit of the Year and the Social Enterprise Award.
