Presented by Nanaimo Theatre Group, “Toronto, Mississippi” revolves around Jhanna, a funny, passionate, and often exasperating 18 year old, who also happens to be mentally challenged. She lives with her mum and their boarder, Bill. Tensions rise when Jhanna’s dad, King – an Elvis impersonator who abandoned the family 10 years earlier – shows up. While ofter very funny, this is ultimately a deeply moving play about the power of family and love.
