Nicole Cahoon, CPA
Nicole Cahoon, CPA, loves her job. She loves being a Chartered Professional Accountant because it enables her to help her clients grow and succeed.
“Business owners have their own talents, and often it is not accounting or tax preparation,” she explains. “We support our clients while they run their businesses by financially guiding them through what they in turn are great at doing themselves.”
Nicole values the relationships formed with her clients during the somewhat intimate process, often joking with them that they are “going to grow old together.” One of her greatest joys, however, is transitioning clients from a sole-proprietorship to a corporation.
“My goal is to balance the overall impact of minimizing tax consequences with the client’s current and future needs,” Nicole explains. “Generally, the range of tax minimization strategies is broader when a business operates as a corporation.”
Developing these strategies never gets boring for her, she adds, since determining the right time for incorporation is not a simple process.
“Every client is different. Incorporating is not a one-size-fits-all scenario.”
After experiencing Nicole’s infectious enthusiasm for tax planning, it’s easy to see why her firm has become so successful so quickly. Clients are referred to her through word of mouth, or they seek her out as a result of her prominence in the community. From organizing annual charity events to sitting on several not-for-profit boards, she’s always available to give back.
As a woman who started her own business from scratch, Nicole Cahoon knows what it takes to succeed – and she readily shares that knowledge!
