As a small business in the Comox Valley, we rely on the ingenuity and entrepreneurship of our fellow community members to help us grow and achieve our goals. We want to see our friends and business partners succeed, and we intend to do all that we can to assist our Island communities with their development goals. That’s why Sure Copy has come on board as one of the key sponsors of a 2015 Speaker Series focused on “Imagining a Talent-Driven Economy” and hosted by #WeAreYQQ.
#WeAreYQQ is inspired by Vancouver’s successful tech start-up hub, #WeAreYVR—an organization that draws attention to technology start-ups and innovators in Vancouver.
The Speaker Series, which will take place over the course of winter and spring in the Comox Valley, will showcase a number of successful Canadian entrepreneurs and change-makers, including Freelancer.com’s Nik Badminton, Fullstack.ca’s Borris Mann and Picatic.com’s Jayesh Parmar.
The goal of the series is to provide entrepreneurs in Vancouver Island communities with useful tools to jumpstart business growth, to inspire innovation and creation from local change-makers and to help connect young talent with businesses and markets beyond the Comox Valley.
The first showcase of the series will take place on January 26 at North Island College’s Stan Hagen Theatre. The focus will be “Entrepreneurs, Freelancers & the Future of Work in a Global Marketplace,” presented by Nik Badminton. Each event is free to students and discounted for Chamber of Commerce members, and early bird pricing is now available for upcoming events.
