“In this line of work, people have a vested interest in the conclusions I reach,” says Steve Blacklock, a real estate appraiser with Wm. S. Jackson & Associates Ltd. “So the ability to work independently and confidently is probably the most important thing about my profession. I provide clients with the best, unbiased real estate information I can to help them make their best decisions.” That is likely just one of the reasons he’s been named one of this year’s “Comox Valley Top 40 Under 40.”
A somewhat reluctant nominee, who “just got in under the wire” at age 39, Steve has been with Jackson and Associates since 2006 and plans to be with them for years to come. He specializes in the valuation of commercial properties in the Comox Valley and Powell River.
Not only does Steve like getting to know his clients and working with other appraisers, he values the combination of office and field work afforded by his position. Prior to joining Wm. S. Jackson and Associates, Steve worked for both the BC Assessment Authority and an accounting firm in Vancouver.
